2020 AGM Weekend

To all New Zealand Lace Society Members
The decision has been made to cancel the 2020 AGM event in Mosgiel, due to the issues around the management of COVID-19.
The New Zealand Government is asking everyone to be vigilant to keep the chance of widespread community outbreak low. To assist with this, they are asking that groups avoid non-essential gatherings in which people are in close contact which may facilitate the spread of COVID-19. Whilst I appreciate that the membership looks forward to meeting at AGM events, they are not essential events.
The Society does not want to put people at risk and we need to minimise the risk to the registrants and members of the public, many of whom fall into the vulnerable cohort for this virus.
Although this is extremely disappointing for both the dedicated and hardworking organising committee and the membership, the Society Committee thinks that it is important to act responsibly at what is a time of extreme uncertainty for everyone.
We are currently working through the logistics of the cancelation and will provide additional information as soon as plans are finalised. I can say we are planning to hold the 2021 AGM in Mosgiel.
At this point Members may request a refund of any registration fees paid to the Dunedin Group and you should contact Gabrielle Monti-Sheehan Gmmonti-sheehan@xtra.co.nz , or if you prefer you can leave your registration payment with the Dunedin Group and this will be payment towards the 2021 AGM.
Please pass this communication on to any Member in your Group who does not have email.

Take care
